...and what does the LORD require of you but to do
justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8b
What opportunities
are there for learning and spiritual growth?
If we say “God is Still
Speaking,” doesn’t it seem like a good idea to keep listening?
At First Congregational United Church of Christ there are many
opportunities for children, youth and adults to continue learning and
growing spiritually. For more information about children and youth
opportunities, click the 'Youth News' link highlighted on the menu at the
left.

CENTERING
PRAYER
You are invited to gain a better
understanding of prayer on Tuesday evenings at 5:30, as we gather for Centering
Prayer. Anyone is welcome at any time. For more information, call Donna Kreiensieck at 345-8783
What is Centering
Prayer?
It
is a method of response to God's invitation to enter into intimacy and
relationship. The practice of centering prayer, as taught by Fr. Thomas
Keating and the Contemplative Outreach organization, assists us in pening to the contemplative dimension of the Gospel
.The prayer prepares us to be present to God's action and presence in the
innermost part of our being. In cooperation with God's grace, Centering
Prayer is a process of interior transformation and purification. The fruits
of contemplative prayer are often realized in daily life through the
gradual unfolding of the virtues of faith, hope, and love. These virtues
open us to the love of neighbor and the capacity for genuine service.
