Pet Blessing in Worship – Sunday, October 5th
On Sunday, October 5th, we invite you to bring your beloved pets (or a photo of them) to worship for a special blessing. Rooted in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi, who celebrated God’s presence in all living things, we honor the sacred bond between humans and animals and give thanks for the joy, comfort, and companionship they bring. This service reminds us that God’s love extends to all creation, and that caring for our animal companions is part of our call to stewardship of the earth.
For the safety and comfort of all, please ensure that pets are either leashed or in carriers. We will have designated seating areas for different kinds of animals, as well as an animal-free section of the sanctuary for those with allergies or sensitivities.
