The book for February is "James" by Percival Everett.  James is a 2024 novel by Percival Everett that retells Mark Twain's Adventures of Huccleberry Finn from the perspective of the enslaved man, Jim, who is renamed James in this version. The book follows James as he escapes slavery to find his family, joining Huck on a journey down the Mississippi River, and is acclaimed for giving Jim agency, intelligence, and a powerful voice, earning numerous awards, including the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. The Library! had numerous copies.
