Who are we?

Furnishing Hope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit mission program of Boise First Congregational United Church of Christ. We support our neighbors in the Boise area who have recently secured housing after experiencing homelessness.

History

Furnishing Hope was established in 2023 as a collaborative effort between several local faith communities and Interfaith Sanctuary to support guests transitioning out of the shelter into stable housing. That grassroots initiative has evolved into our current program, which continues to foster compassion and community connections.

Welcome Baskets for New Path 2.0 Residents

New Path 2.0 is the City of Boise’s newest supportive housing development. Opening in late summer 2026, it will provide 95 permanent housing units and on-site supportive services for some of our most vulnerable community members exiting homelessness. Furnishing Hope is assembling welcome baskets for the residents moving into their new homes. We hope to deliver the baskets in August, in preparation for September move-in dates. We are seeking financial donations and volunteers to support this important project.

Ways to Help

  • Financial Contribution: Sponsor the cost of an item from the list, one or more welcome baskets, or donate an amount of your choice toward purchasing items for the baskets. We can accept cash, checks, and online donations through our Giving Portal. If contributing through the portal, please select "New Path Welcome Baskets" from the Fund dropdown menu.

  • Purchase items from one of our wishlists.

  • Volunteer Your Time: Help us assemble and deliver baskets! Contact us at furnishinghope@boisefirstucc.org for more information.

Organizational Referrals

Individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness into stable housing are referred to us by our community partners, including shelters and human services agencies. These organizations identify those with the greatest need, enabling us to have the most significant impact. We do not have a direct application process.

Housing must already be secured before referral. We do not assist in finding or providing housing.

Transform Empty Spaces into Homes

Volunteers help us thoughtfully furnish spaces, creating warm and welcoming homes. We strive to incorporate individualized elements that reflect each person's unique style and interests.
